Some Things Are Just Hilarious

I started off my day cleaning the sewing room. Larry got me a new work bench tool box from Sam's Club for Christmas. So I began putting things in drawers, etc. I went through my meager stash and folded it neatly. And straightened shelves. I didn't get finished but I did make progress. Craig came in this morning and said, "You mean you already have the top covered with stuff."

As I was cleaning the room, I had the embroidery machine going stitching out a pattern for a scarf like I made my sisters for Christmas. I'm glad I got that cream colored fleece because it matches the coat Kelsey got me for Christmas. I sure wish I could get some gloves to match. Well, I guess I could, but we all know how long they would stay that color. Not very. lol

This was another $1 pattern from Embroidery Library. It had about 30 thread changes and took over two hours to stitch out.

Larry was working so the kids and I had leftovers for dinner. I think we were all happy we didn't have to cook. The only problem was that I had planned to make fresh rolls today and forgot all about it until time to eat. So I was disappointed--no rolls.

After we ate, Craig and I played WII for hours. We played basketball, golf, table tennis, wave boarding, sword fighting, and I don't know what all else. We laughed until we cried and then laughed some more. Hence, the title of this blog post.

So I didn't get my "Snowbound" Quilt top finished but I had a blast. I did get the first border strips cut out. They are waiting patiently in a pile for me to sew on.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll get back on track. But it's Christmas break and this time is so much more fun and relaxing when I just go with the flow and do whatever catches my fancy. Chiropractor first thing in the morning, then sewing, a good salad for lunch (to counteract all I've eaten the past two days), more sewing and straightening the house, and then ball games in the evening. What a life!

Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting!

  2. I hope you enjoy all that your break has to offer. I think the work bench is great. You will be able to find things so easily. As for the snowbound quilt we still have plenty of winter left. Don't worry!

  3. Vivian, your scarf is so cute with the snowman!! Did you find the pattern on the Internet? I saw a lady wearing one at Kohl's and looked through their scarves, but no fleece ones.

I have work bench tool box envy now!!! LOL....
