I'm getting closer . . .

I have really worked long and hard on the hand quilting of the star quilt. I spent I don't know how many hours last week when I was on Spring Break working on it. And finally Sunday evening, I completed the center of the quilt. Finally.

I'll try to get a better picture of it in a couple of days. So I am now ready to start on the border. I am going to use this stencil.

It is Holy Week at Church in preparation for Easter so I probably won't have time to quilt this week. But I am anxious to get this one finished. I am thinking about entering it in our little county fair this fall. A question for those of you who have entered quilts before.  Did you wash your quilts before you entered them?

Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting!

Good day to all!

See all of the great designs being made by stopping by Design Wall Monday with Judy. It has been months since I have participated.

Spring Break has begun! And it feels so good to be off for the week. The weather here was absolutely fabulous on Saturday. I walked for an hour in the sunshine and it was so energizing. Then yesterday, it was rainy and pretty dreary all day.

We took 6 tweens to a Life Teen Mass in Fort Smith. (about an hours away). After mass we ate at CiCi's Pizza. Craig, Becca, Kelsey, Zak, and Aiden all joined us for dinner and we were able to catch up for an hour or so. It was so good to have us all together again.

I have spent quite a bit of time hand quilting and have all of the star blocks completed. I need some of the white strips left. And all of the border.

I set a goal to have it completed by the end of spring break, but I forgot about the border. We'll see.

I have all of the inside of the Double Wedding Ring Quilt completed now. I just don't have a current picture. I took it off of the design wall and didn't want to put it back up just to photo it. I know I want to use the daisy type flowers but still haven't decided on stems and I have almost decided to leave it simple and not add leaves.

It is more of a fun, happy quilt and Becca's is more of an elegant quilt. One more example of how one quilt pattern can give us many different looks.

I have so many things I want to do in one short week. I hope I don't get stuck on one thing and the week fly by with no accomplishments.

Happy sipping, stitching, and quilting!
