Quick Question

Just a quick question for all of your empty nesters.

Does working on quilts for your kids
make you miss them more or less?

Have a great day!

Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting!

  1. I would think it would help you - you are rather new still to the empty nest, after awhile you just don't think about it all that much - you like your own time and your own space, but yet remember how busy you were when the kids were at home too and enjoy the memories. My girls are 38 and 36 so it has been a long time for me.

  2. Both of our girls are married and starting families of their own now. One lives about 4 miles away and the other in GA. I am enjoying just having our 17 year old son at home with us, but I find myself missing the girls all the time. They are both on facebook and we communicate by phone, text, and e-mail as well. However, when I am making something for them, I remember so many little special things about them it just makes me miss them that much more.

I think I'm going to give them a call right now! :> )

    Blessings~

  3. Both my babies (!) are relatively close, so I get to see them often (especially since grandbabies have hit the scene)! Todd and I were married when the kids were ten and eight (he adopted them in our 2nd year of marriage), so we are really enjoying this time of just us, since we didn't get it on the front end!! That being said, James was my laughter -- he always could make me laugh, and I really missed that for a long time after he got married and moved out. And I tremendously enjoyed the days after the surgery when Jocelyn would come over and visit on Todd's shift days ... it was like 'old times'! :)
