So, tonight I sat down and began step one of the mystery. It is quarter square triangles. A lot of them.
This pile is only 300. I need 448. Maybe tomorrow evening I'll be able to get the rest of them cut out and sewn together and get this pile pressed.
I am using scraps and fat quarters for this quilt. Bonnie called for light print fabrics but when I looked in my meager stash, I only found a couple of light prints. I do have enough of 4 or 5 white on white solids. But, I decided to look in one of my scrap drawers and found a zip loc bag full of white one and half inch square triangles. Exactly what I need. (I think they are from the orange crush mystery quilt.)
I was thrilled. You can bet I will use them even though they are solid white.

Solid white will work. It will give it a crisp and clear look. And that's what Bonnie's quilts are all about "use it up and get it out of there" she always says.
ReplyDeleteIf you look at what other people have posted on Bonnie's site there is a wide variety - anything goes! I wouldn't worry about it. Most of my stuff is white on white, with a few white with black and a teeny bit of white with a little tiny bit of color. And I took a break after step 2 to do Christmas sewing so I'll be playing catch-up after the first of the year.
