Tiger Lily Quilt

The new design of Tiger Lily is up and going.  I decided the 9 patch blocks in between the tiger lily blocks were too busy--or something.

I have 5 block sets appliqued and am working on the 6th one. I need 9 all together.

I was moving along nicely last night when my machine started acting up. I am using a satin stitch and all of the sudden it started skipping stitches. I changed needles, re-threaded the machine numerous times, and finally--gave up.

I turned the machine off and hopefully when I return to it tonight, all will be well again. Sometimes I think the electronic mechanisms just get tired, like we do, and goes haywire until reset. Probably not! But that's my theory. I would hate to admit that it was human error.

Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting!

  1. you can never tell, sometimes it seems all you have to do is re-thread the machine, take the bobbin out and put it back in and it works.
Did you design the pattern or find it someplace?

  2. I think the same thing about my embroidery machines sometimes. They will be running smoothly for several hours and all of a sudden, it's like they need a break and start acting up. Most of the time, if I turn them off for a while, they will work right when I turn them back on. The lily quilt is turning out beautiful. I can't wait to see the finished quilt.
    Have a blessed day!

  4. Vivian, your lillies look terrific! What a heirloom piece this will be! Hope your machine wakes up in a better mood and with no more "indigestion"! :)

  6. Did you take it apart & clean it? Sometimes mine gets linty and starts skipping stitches. Give it a good cleanout & use a different bobbin too. That might make a difference. Glad to see you are back working on this.
