Third Block Completed

and I'm all caught up in the Fat Quarter Star Quilt-along.

My friend, Karen, made the comment that if she pulled the fabrics out of a bag she would probably be tempted to put them back in and redraw. I assured her that I hadn't had the urge to do that yet.

Until last night, that is. These are the fabrics I pulled out for the third block.

Loved the greens . . . not that crazy about the top fabric on the beige pile. But, I quickly decided that it would all depend on how I used the fabric in the block. So, my thought was, "Ok, this block has small pieces. That's where I'll use it."

And this is what I ended up with . . .

And I was right. Using it in small pieces worked and I am pleased with this block also.

And here are the three blocks together on my design wall.

If you like to mystery quilts or would like to try one for the first time, I hear that Bonnie Hunter is releasing the fabric info for a new mystery quilt today. My Orange Crush Quilt was made from one of her mysteries.

Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting!
