"B Date"

Oh, we had such a relaxing evening last night. I set the table in the back yard with fancy smancy dishes and even used Mama Brown's gold (silver) ware.

We had filet mignon and grilled veggies. We haven't really grilled vegetables before so it was the blind leading the blind. I used yellow squash, carrots, potatoes, a yellow pepper, onions, and mushrooms. They were marinated in a 1/2 cup olive oil, 1/2 cup soy sauce, and 1/2 cup lemon juice. We added 1/2 clove of garlic for seasoning. I think we could have used a whole clove.

But it turned out really good and we didn't have nearly as much food leftover as I thought we would. I will have a plate of veggies for lunch tomorrow.

After dishes were cleaned up, we played a friendly game of scrabble. For the first time ever (and I don't play very often) I started out the game using all of my letters forming the word "quacked". Poor Larry didn't have a chance.

Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting.

  1. The food and table are wonderful, and I would never tire of that beautiful view. I love your fall header quilt. The 4 patches really show off all of the fabrics.

  2. Lovely quilt in the header! It certainly says fall and I'm so ready for that. A 'back yard' date with a view like you have was sure to be a success. Happy almost fall, Vivian!!!

  3. sounds like a fun evening - but what did the letter "B" stand for?
