Craig and Becca came down to visit on Sunday. Becca found an adorable Christmas Tree skirt she wanted and asked if I could make it or help her make it. And since, I love having sewing friends, I told her I would help her.
This is the skirt she liked. Luckily it had a tutorial to go with it. The funny thing is I had found these stockings on the same blog that I absolutely adore and plan to make for my home.
So she went to Hancock's and picked out fabrics and arrived around 1:30.
You wouldn't think it would be so difficult to cut a circle for the base of the skirt. But it was pretty funny and took Becca, Craig, and myself to get it done.
First ruffle being attached. She actually looks like she knows what she is doing. lol
Craig took pictures because he said I didn't have pics of me on the blog. I am probably fussing about all of the ruffles.
Now, that is some intense sewing!
Three down and two to go.
The last row of ruffles being pinned on. Yippee!!!
Binding added . . . it's finished. That was quick, wasn't it? Not -- it took almost 6 hours.
So we cut and sewed and had a great afternoon. And she got one great Christmas Tree skirt. (I wonder just how much the cats will like it.
I tried to get Craig to be a guest blogger because he would have told all of the funny things that we did today. And he would have put a twist on it, of course. Let's just say we had a few good laughs and made some memories.
And Kelsey, we missed you. I know how much you like ruffles!!! (She used to hide her dresses in the bottom of her closet because they had ruffles or puffy sleeves.) lol
Good luck on your finals, Kelsey!
Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting.

Comment Problem -- Hopefully fixed
I am trying to get to the bottom of this problem of people not being able to comment on my blog. I went to blogger help and someone made a comment that he thought it was from using a 3rd party blogger template. I was using one so I changed my design today to use the templates, etc. from blogger only.
Another person suggested going to the edit HTML and choosing "Revert widget templates to default" so I changed that also.
Now I ask that my readers please comment and then email me to let me know if you still were not able to leave a comment. I hope this fixes the problem because I do love to read peoples comments. Most of the time, I actually learn from them.
What am I working on today?
Why a pink IPad cover for my future daughter-in-law, who loves pink.
Happy snipping, stitching and quilting.

Sunflower Pillow Finished
Well, I decided to put a fall fabric on the back of my sunflower pillow.
I have it sewn together and half stuffed. I ran out of stuffing so that means a trip to Walmart tomorrow. Here is the stuffing I have started using. It says it will never clump and only gets softer with washing. I can't wait to see if it really works. I do like the way it feels.
I have decided I am going to use the pillow on my extra office chair that I have in my sewing room. Craig sat down on it last night and asked me if that chair ever had any padding. I'm not sure. It is a hand me down. But, he is right. Sitting on it feels like you are sitting on a wood board.
Ignore the blue in the corner of the picture. That is a border for another project.
Now, I'm off to
Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting!

Help! I Can't Seem to Get to the Sewing Room
Do you ever have those days when you can't seem to be where you want to be. I decided I wasn't going to the sewing room until I had the living room, dining room, and kitchen clean. I mean really clean. So far the living room is really clean, the dining room is on the way, but the kitchen well . . .
This was actually the biggest job. We used our fireplace during those cold, cold days (that I hope are gone) and there were ashes and wood tidbits all over the place. You know those little pieces that not matter how much you dust just kind of get moved around. So I had to take a damp cloth and wipe everything down. Oops! Look at that mirror. I think I missed it.
Actually, if I would just get busy I could probably have the kitchen clean in 30 minutes, including the floor. So here goes. Hopefully, I'll be back later with a peak at my snowflake quilt. If not, you may see it on my design wall for Design Wall Monday.
Well, all is quiet here. Larry is at work and both of my kids are at work. Kelsey will go back to her apartment straight from work and Craig won't be home until almost midnight. Empty nest syndrome. Sometimes it just gets to you.
Until next time . . .
