Poinsettia Wreath Quilt

I posted the other day about how my thumb was sore from cutting out applique pieces for my latest project. (Which I do not need to be starting on because I have two BOM's to complete and 2 other quilts started.) Hmm. . . I think I have set a new record.

Any way, the quilt I am making is Poinsettia Wreath by Teri Christopherson of Black Mountain Quilts. I purchased one of her books a couple of years ago.  Sorry, I can't remember which one and I forgot it at school. I actually don't see it on her website.

I have one block laid out ready to applique.

I took the book to school to enlarge the placement guide so I could be sure I put the pieces in the correct spot so they would be meeting correctly when I piece the blocks together. I don't trust my judgement on laying the pieces on because the blocks are supposed to be 7 1/2 inches. But I cut them 8 inches so I could trim after I applique. As you can see, there isn't a whole lot of room left. But then again, I will only be trimming off 1/4 inch from each side. So I am on a standstill because I don't want to fill my table surface up with these blocks when I can't stitch them down yet.

So, I'll pick up one of the other unfinished quilts and work on it a little bit.

Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting!

  3. I know which quilt you're working on. I recognize the block from one of my books. Great fabric choices. It's going to be a lovely quilt.
