Design Wall Monday - It's All Downhill From Here

It's all downhill from here. "Be Attitudes" is pieced and ready to be sandwiched and quilted. My goal is to have it hanging in my classroom when the students walk in on Thursday.

I have decided to only use one border and then use a black tone on tone for the binding (that is the black on the right side of the picture).

Any suggestions on how to quilt it? Remember, I quilt using my domestic sewing machine so no pantos.

Be sure to stop by Judy L's for Design Wall Monday.

Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting!

  1. Ohhhhhhhh - I love this quilt!! I would have just out line the appliques with a simple stitch (for me handquilted) and pick a nice simple pretty border stencil. The design and color choices are the stars here!! Great job!

  2. This is darling Vivian, you couldn't panto it regardless with the applique. Have you searched Webshots for the quilt to get some ideas?

First thing I missed was your 'orange crush' quilt, but the red/white/blue one is lovely. I love the 'Be Attitudes' and it's a great thing to hang in a classroom. I think a gentle meander all over and out lining the 'figures' would work for me.

  8. WOW! I can't wait to hear what your students say when they see this! I suggest outlining the main character..and maybe the letters in each block...then just doing some basic background fills in parts of the block. Just for some texture. Don't be like me and agonize over it for a WEEK...doodle on a white board..and then pick a couple..and sprinkle them in diff blocks.
