Getting Back on Track--Maybe!

It's been a busy, lazy kind of day. I say busy because I stayed busy. Lazy because when I work on school things, like when I sew, I don't consider it work but more of a hobby. I did slip in a nap for about 30 minutes this afternoon. After looking up science lessons for a couple of hours, I was nodding off at the computer. So, I said forget it and laid down for a bit.

Now, I'm going to pick up my "Be Attitudes" applique block, put in Avatar, and wind down for the day. Oh man, I just noticed the kitchen is still a mess from supper. Craig cooked so I'll gladly do the dishes. Then I'll get to stitching.

It's been so long since I've stitched on it, it took me a couple of minutes to remember how.

A 2nd cruise posting is up here.

Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting.

Home . . . But Not Very Productive

Oh my goodness! I came back from the cruise tired and lazy.

But. . .  isn't this beautiful.

We arrived home by 8:30 on Saturday evening so by today I should have all kinds of things done. Nope! I spent Sunday with my Mom and Dad and brothers and sisters for Father's Day. After I got home that afternoon I tried to watch a movie but napped instead.

On Monday, I had an eye appointment. Time for new glasses. I've had my current one for at least 3 years now. I only wear them in the evening mostly--contacts by day so I don't worry about keeping them totally up to date.  My appointment was for 10:30. For some reason I had to wait in the exam room until almost 11:00 before the Dr. came in. That drives me crazy!!!! The exam took awhile because she did contact fitting and an eyeglass exam. Then came the hard part of picking out frames. My face is small and most frames overwhelm and swallow me up. I finally left there after 1 p.m. What a way to blow a day.

Every time I am still or sit down since the trip, I feel motion sickness. Larry says I am having trouble getting my land legs back. I guess so. So I went to Fort Smith yesterday afternoon. Found a new "pretty" for my living room coffee table at Kirkland's. I love that store.

Today, my plan is to repaint my daughter's bedroom. My sewing tables are going into there until my sewing room ceiling and wall get redone. Water leaks. Yuck! Mold. More Yuck!

If I am really ambitious and can get some help, I may have pics of my new temporary space in the next day or two.

That is, if I can get off of my bottom end and do something.

Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting!

What a Mess!

Sometimes I go days without entering my sewing room. I really expected to have both of my patriotic quilt tops finished by today.

It could be because it is a mess right now. I still have my patriotic quilts laying on my floor.  And fat quarters are still on the table crying for me to choose them for my "Be Attitudes" applique quilt.

Or it could be because I spend way too much time looking at everyone's blogs which gives me way too many ideas for new quilts.

Or it could be because I found a beautiful quilt that I really, really want to make and I know it will be a difficult challenge. And I love challenges. So I spent a few hours last night looking on line for fabrics. But, I just can't do it. I really want to see those fabrics in person and feel them. So, it will be another trip to Mama's Log House Quilt Shop. Probably a summer project.

On another note, I just realized it is only 3 weeks until our cruise. This is our first and we are excited. Our kids and their friends are going with us. I think we'll have a blast. If anyone has any suggestions on what to pack or what NOT to pack, let me know. We are newbies at this.

Have a great day!

Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting.
