I have not been on the computer very much during the past couple of week.s That is good because it gives me a lot more time for reading or sewing.
Through Karen's post, I learned that Bonnie Hunter is challenging us to do at least an hour or hand stitching each day. I'm glad I decided during the past couple of months that I really enjoy hand quilting. Is it a phase? I'm not sure because I have never had the patience for it in the past. In fact, I started two or three quilts and had my mom finish them. The last quilt I hand quilted took me about 10 years because I kept losing interest.
But, I have been doing a lot of hand quilting during the past week. I actually have two projects going at once. Probably not a good idea.
So I am going to take Bonnie up on her challenge.
Where do I quilt? In the middle of the living room close to the TV (see the old box tv in the background--It just keeps on going and going and going).
What do I plan to work on during the month of September? This wall hanging that is about 3/4 of the way finished. It will go on my red kitchen wall.
And hopefully finish this star quilt.
I have been working on it off and on for a couple of months now. This is
what made me fall in love with hand quilting. I just love the way the
quilting is showing up on this off white fabric.
So, now is the time to get off of the couch and computer and get busy.
Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting!
love the star quilt, actually love both quilts and definately agree that the hand quilting really brings out something special
ReplyDeletethey are both looking so good. I need to reread Bonnie's challenge and see if I want to do whatever she is doing - I already keep track of time on the big quilt so it shouldn't be a problem - I have not been doing an hour a day though - need to get busy - I too have two going
ReplyDeleteNice job!
ReplyDeleteLove your hand quilting on the star quilt. The stitches show up really well.
