Need Binding Advice

Nope, we didn't have school today. Yes, we should have. There is a dusting of snow on the ground but nothing on the roads as of 2:30. A light snow is blowing around right now but I don't think anything else is called for today.

I was able to sit down and get the t-shirt quilt quilted.

Now,  I can't decide what to use for the binding. Do I pull out the blue in the quilt by using blue for the binding?

Oh--here's the back. It's s blue and black marble with a black strip at each end.

Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting.

  1. I think, if it were me, I'd stick with black for the binding. From the pictures, the way they show up on my computer at least, it looks mostly like a black and white quilt, and putting blue on the edges would pull my eye away from the centre of the quilt, where the focus should be.

  2. I would use any thing I had - do you enough fabric from the patchwork that you did? You could piece strips together and do a multi color binding? That always looks nice I think.
We didn't get much here either. I don't know if they called school off or not - I hadn't noticed the buses but I don't watch for them. We had rain then wind finally a little sleet around 2 and temperature dropped then but traffic going past the house doesn't look like they are having any problems.

  3. What a beautiful quilt!
From this side of the monitor I would have to lean towards black for the binding.
I always loved snow days, but only if there was snow. Stay warm and happy quilting!
