Blue "I'm Blushing" Completed

I have been busy since returning home from the lake. I just don't have a lot to say.

I did finish the blue "I'm Blushing" quilt and finally got around to taking photos.

During the past couple of evenings I worked on the Stocking Quilt. It is all finished and ready to be sandwiched. I had thought about hand quilting it, but I think I'll machine quilt it and hand quilt the brown star quilt.

I had really planned to get the final border on it and take it to the lake with me to start quilting. It was one of the first quilts I made from a reader's blog. (Amanda Jean from Crazy Mom Quilts)  I think I just need one side on the last border and it will be ready to sandwich.

I can't believe I have been out of school for almost two weeks already. I know the summer is going to fly by. I have been to the library and have finished a several good books already.

Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting!

Gone Camping

School is out as of 11:30 tomorrow morning. Some of the teachers are going out to lunch afterwards. Then, it is off to the lake for almost a week. Hopefully, I will get rested up and be ready to tackle all of those summer fix up projects. And get back to quilting, and posting, and reading.

Summer, what a life!!!

Gearing up for the weekend

What are your weekend plans?

I am going to write down my plans so that maybe it will inspire me to get something done.

1. Pick one room of my house to clean thoroughly. Purging and all.
2. Quick pickup on the rest of the house.
3. Finish the blue "I'm blushing" quilt.
4. Spend Sunday with family at my parents.
5. Read and relax.

By the way, what are you reading?

I love series and am re-reading the Elm Creek Quilters Series by Jennifer Chiaverini. I didn't see the latest in the series, Sanoma Rose, at the local library. I hope it is there next week when I go back.

Wow and WIP

I have been quilting on the blue "I'm Blushing" quilt. I guess I am about halfway finished. I am quilting it much more simpler than I did the one for Becca. Just lots of l's and x's.

Seven more days of school. And the last three are only half days. lol

Lots of summer workshops planned. Fun days lounging by the pool. And camping. Oh, and I can't forget quilting.

What a life!!!

Visit Ester for WOW on Wednesday and Lee @ Freshly Pieced for WIP Wednesday.

Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting.

Countdown to Summer!

It's summer and time to change the blog header.

Kelsey and Becca are both after me for not posting. I have been busy, I just don't feel like I have anything to say.

School is winding down. Two more weeks. But that means track meets, field trips, etc. The kids are more rowdy than normal. I need their energy. So many days, the teachers go home TIRED. lol

As I was typing this, I heard on the world news that a six year old was taken off by the police (to the detention center at the police station) for throwing erasers and things in a school tantrum. Really!!! Come on!  Do they take the adults away when they have tantrums?

Okay, I have been working quietly on a couple of projects.

Here is one of them . . .

I just finished pin basting it on my tabletop. Much easier than crawling around on the floor. It is a second "I'm Blushing" by Natalia Bonner of Piece n' Quilt. It is under her free tutorials and was a Moda Bake Shop quilt.

My mom still uses a frame like this to do her hand quilting.

She has an extra one. I really have been thinking about getting it from her to use to pin baste my quilts. I don't know who these ladies are. I just found the image but they do look like they are getting things done and having a good time.

My mom quilts once a week with a couple of ladies from the church. I really need to make a point to surprise them by dropping in to help during the summer. Sounds like a lot of fun.

I am ready to start quilting. I can't decide if I want to quilt it like I did Becca's or go with something much simpler and quicker.

Happy snipping, stitching, and quilting.
